Fans of Glee will have a lot to be thankful for this holiday season.
According to Billboard, the show will issue not one, but two albums in November and December featuring the numerous songs from the show as Glee: The Music volumes 1 and 2.
A new Christmas single, a cover of Wham!’s “Last Christmas” that won’t appear on the show, will also be released. A cast tour is reportedly in the works for summer 2010.

EW has exclusively learned that Lea Michele’s Spring Awakening co-star, Jonathan Groff (seen most recently in Ang Lee’s Taking Woodstock) is coming on board Glee for five or six episodes playing the lead male singer of Vocal Adrenaline, the group already seen performing “Rehab” and “Mercy.” Says Glee co-creator Ryan Murphy, “He is a male diva…a miva.” Groff’s character will also serve as a potential love interest for Michele’s Rachel.

If I hadn’t been warming to Glee already, this for sure would’ve begun defrosting me: Dollhouse-keeper Joss Whedon has agreed to direct one of the back nine episodes that Fox just ordered.
Turns out, the genius who gave us not only the “Once More, With Feeling” musical episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer but also Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog is a big fan of Ryan Murphy’s new phenom. So when Twentieth (the studio behind Glee) approached him about the gig, pretty much his only reservation was scheduling.
“Joss directed one of the great musical episodes in the history of television on Buffy,” gushes Murphy, “so this is a great, if unexpected, fit. I’m thrilled he’ll be loaning us his fantastic groundbreaking talent.”
And there’s no reason to panic, Dollhouse fans: I’m told the auteur’s moonlighting in no way, shape or form suggests that that show is a goner. He’d most likely tackle the side job after Eliza Dushku and Co. have wrapped their 13-episode order.

Are you sitting down, Gleeks? Well you might want to, because we have some exclusive Glee news that’s positively Madge-ical. EW has learned that Madonna has given Glee the rights to her catalog and that an all-Madonna-music episode is in the works for early next year. The hit series has been building an audience and filling the iTunes charts with its cover songs, and Madonna’s involvement is a testament to how big the show is getting. Also, an amazing Glee cover of a classic Madonna track has the potential to be even bigger than the show’s blockbuster take on “Don’t Stop Believin’.” Quinn totally has to do “Papa Don’t Preach.” And I can completely see Rachel tackling “Material Girl.”
But Madonna might not be the only pop star getting some Glee love. Co-creator Ryan Murphy tells EW that he’s considering approaching American Idol runner up Adam Lambert about appearing on the show (next year, Glee will be paired with Idol on Wednesday nights). Nothing is official yet but Lambert does seem like an ideal choice for Glee.
Which Madonna song do you wanna hear Glee cover, Music Mix-ers? What would you think about Adam Lambert possibly appearing on the show?
For more on Glee, check out EW’s cover story on the Fox phenomenon, on stands this Friday.

Dianna looked absolutely gorgeous at Elle’s 16th Annual Elle Women In Hollywood Tribute last night! She posed for the cameras with another one of my favorite actresses, Katie Cassidy!

We’ve got the scoop for you with details and packaging for the upcoming Glee 4-DVD set, full of the first 13 episodes of Fox’s hot new series!
Fox Home Entertainment has today informed retailers that the release will now be titled Glee – Season 1, Volume 1: Road to the Sectionals. They backed that up with package art (seen at bottom), and filled in the blanks with a release date, correct pricing information, and additional details.
The 4-disc set will street on December 29th, timed to take advantage of the post-Christmas traffic (as people come in to use gift cards, look for bargains and return or exchange unwanted items) and to let fans catch up on the story arc of the first 13 episodes before the remaining nine begin to air. Cost in Amazon’s early listing is currently incorrect; Fox informs that the right price in the USA is $39.98 SRP (the Canadian list price is CA$49.98 SRP, so that is possibly why Amazon shows the wrong amount…expect it to be corrected soon, and pre-orders already placed will be adjusted to the better price). That may still seem pricey for 13 episodes, but don’t forget that the show has MASSIVE music rights that need to be paid for to release it on DVD intact.

“Don’t Stop Believing” in a Glee tour, because executive producer Ryan Murphy says it’s a go next summer.
Following the Season 1 wrap-up, the Glee club is going on tour. “We’re going to do what American Idol has done and put the kids on the road,” Murphy told the New York Post. “It all equals revenue streams for Fox.”
With five of Glee’s songs already on the iTunes top 100 list and the first of five CDs set to drop on Nov. 3, it was only a matter of time before the club hit the road.
